Privacy policy
Privacy Policy
The short version: I collect what you choose to send me, I use it to help you and to send the emails you asked for, and I don't sell it. Here's the plain-English detail.
Effective Oct. 12, 2026
Who I am
This website is run by Jason Edwards, REALTOR®, with eXp Realty, licensed in Virginia (#0225238945). When this policy says “I,” “me” or “we,” it means me and my business. You can reach me at 757-654-5563 or realtorjedwards@gmail.com.
What I collect
- Website forms. When you fill out a form on this site (like the relocation guide form), I get what you type in: your name, email, phone if you give it, your moving timeline, the city you're interested in, and which page you were on. Forms are handled by Netlify and then added to my customer database (Lofty) so I can follow up.
- Email signups. If you sign up for my emails, including by leaving your email when you join my Facebook group, We Are Suffolk, Virginia, I keep your name and email address in my email service (Flodesk).
- Things you send me. If you call, text or email me, I keep what you share so I can help you.
- Basic technical information. Like most websites, the servers that host this site (Netlify) keep standard logs, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to run and protect the site.
Cookies and analytics
This site doesn't use advertising trackers or analytics tools, and it doesn't set its own cookies. A few outside services load when you use certain features: page fonts come from Google Fonts, and if you click play on a video, it loads from YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which may set its own cookies once it plays. Links to my home search, booking calendar and YouTube channel take you to other websites with their own privacy policies.
How I use your information
- To reply to you and help with your move, purchase or sale.
- To send you the guides or information you asked for.
- To send occasional emails, like my monthly Hampton Roads update. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the site working and secure.
I don't sell your personal information, and I don't share it with other businesses for their marketing.
Text messages
I only send texts to people who have given me permission. Message frequency varies, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop texts, or HELP for help. Your phone number and text consent are never shared with or sold to third parties for their marketing.
Service providers
I use a few trusted companies to run my business. They handle your information only to provide their service to me:
- Netlify: hosts this website and receives form submissions.
- Lofty: my customer database (CRM), where I keep track of the people I'm helping.
- Flodesk: sends my email newsletters.
- Google: my email and documents, and the fonts on this site.
I may also share information when the law requires it, or with the other people involved in your transaction (like a lender or title company) when you ask me to.
Unsubscribing and deleting your information
You can unsubscribe from my emails with the link at the bottom of any email, and stop texts by replying STOP. To see what information I have about you, correct it, or ask me to delete it, just email realtorjedwards@gmail.com or call 757-654-5563. I'll take care of it, though I may need to keep some records that real estate laws or my brokerage require.
Virginia residents
Whether or not a specific privacy law applies to a small business like mine, I'm happy to honor these requests for anyone: you can ask what personal information I have about you, ask me to correct it, ask me to delete it, and tell me to stop emailing or texting you. Contact me using the details above.
Keeping your information safe
I use reputable service providers and take reasonable steps to protect your information. No website or email system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive details like Social Security or bank account numbers through a website form.
Children
This site is meant for adults. I don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent me information, contact me and I'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I'll post the new version here and update the effective date below.
Effective date: Oct. 12, 2026. This page is general information about how I handle personal information. It isn't legal advice.
